What is Perimattic AI Receptionist?
Perimattic AI Receptionist is an AI phone receptionist we are building for small businesses. It is planned to answer every call in a natural voice, day or night, book appointments, ask your intake questions, text back callers it misses and pass urgent calls to a person. It is in development: nothing is live yet and there is no price.

An AI receptionist is software that answers your business phone line and talks with callers in a natural voice. It understands what the caller wants, answers common questions, takes details and books or changes appointments, instead of playing a menu or sending people to voicemail.
Perimattic AI Receptionist is our planned AI receptionist for small businesses: dental and medical offices, law firms, home-service trades and salons, where the person who would answer the phone is usually busy with a customer. The aim is simple: every caller gets an answer, and you get a clear record of every call.
What will Perimattic AI Receptionist do?
These are the features Perimattic AI Receptionist is being built with.
| Feature | What it is meant to do |
|---|---|
| Answers every call, 24/7 | Picks up in a natural voice on the first ring, at night, at weekends and while your team is busy with customers. |
| Books, reschedules and cancels appointments | Works in your business’s calendar so callers can book or change a slot without waiting for a call back. |
| Asks your own intake questions | Collects the details you need before a job or visit, in the order you set: name, reason for calling, address, urgency and so on. |
| Texts back callers it could not reach | Sends a text to callers whose call was dropped or not completed, so the conversation can carry on by message. |
| Transfers urgent calls to a person | Hands a caller to you or a named colleague when the call needs a human, following rules you set. |
| Sends a summary and transcript of every call | You get who called, what they wanted and what was agreed, plus the full transcript. |
| Routes after-hours emergencies | Recognizes calls you define as emergencies outside business hours and sends them to your on-call person. |
Which businesses is an AI receptionist built for?
An AI receptionist helps most where calls are frequent, often arrive when no one can pick up, and a missed call can mean a lost customer. Each guide below covers the calls a business type typically gets and how the planned features would apply.
| Business type | Calls an AI receptionist would cover | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| Dental offices | New-patient enquiries, appointment changes and urgent tooth pain while the front desk is with a patient | AI receptionist for dental offices |
| Law firms | New-client intake questions, conflict-check details and messages for attorneys in court or meetings | AI receptionist for law firms |
| Medical offices | Booking and rescheduling, prescription and results questions to route, and after-hours calls | AI receptionist for medical offices |
| HVAC companies | No-heat and no-cooling emergencies at night, service bookings and quote requests while techs are on site | AI receptionist for hvac companies |
| Salons | Bookings, changes and cancellations while stylists have their hands full | AI receptionist for salons |
| Plumbers | Leaks and burst pipes after hours, job bookings and callers who will try the next number if no one answers | AI receptionist for plumbers |
How will an AI receptionist call work, step by step?
This is the call flow Perimattic AI Receptionist is being designed around:
- The call comes in. Your existing number forwards to the AI Receptionist when you choose: all the time, after hours, or only when no one picks up.
- It answers and listens. The caller is greeted in your business’s name and asked how it can help.
- It asks your intake questions. The questions you set are asked in your order, so you get the same details from every caller.
- It acts. It books, reschedules or cancels an appointment in your calendar, takes a message, or transfers the call to a person if it is urgent.
- It follows up. If a call drops before it is finished, the caller gets a text back.
- You get the record. A summary and transcript of the call is sent to you.
After hours, calls you define as emergencies are routed to whoever is on call; everything else is booked or noted for the morning.
How does an AI receptionist compare with an answering service or a receptionist?
Small businesses usually choose between three ways to answer calls they cannot take themselves. Each has strengths; the right choice depends on your call volume, hours and how complex your calls are.
| AI receptionist | Human answering service | In-house receptionist | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hours covered | Designed for 24/7 | Often 24/7, depending on plan | Their working hours |
| Several calls at once | Yes, by design | Depends on staffing at the service | One call at a time |
| How it is usually priced | Monthly plan with included minutes or calls, or usage-based | Monthly plan with included minutes or calls, plus overage | Wages plus benefits and payroll costs |
| Unusual or emotional calls | Weaker; should transfer to a person | Stronger: a trained person can adapt | Strongest: knows your business and callers |
| Knows your business in depth | Only what you set up | Only what is in their script | Yes |

How much are missed calls costing you?
Before you choose any call-answering option, it helps to know what unanswered calls are worth to you. The free missed-call revenue calculator uses your own call volume, the share of calls you miss and the value of a new customer to estimate the revenue at risk each month and each year. It runs in your browser and needs no sign-up.
How do I sign up for the AI Receptionist?
