What this connector does
Delhivery is India's largest integrated logistics platform by volume, but connecting it to TallyPrime has historically required either a marketplace-specific bridge (Shopify-Delhivery, Amazon-Delhivery) or manual AWB entry into Tally after every booking from the Delhivery dashboard. Both approaches leak time — every dispatch either bypasses Tally or requires double entry. This connector fixes that by wiring the Delhivery Express Merchant API directly to the Tally dispatch queue.
Every sales voucher in Tally with a valid dispatch address is queued for booking with Delhivery Express. The API call carries the buyer address, weight pulled from the Tally item master, dimensions if available, and payment mode (prepaid or COD detected from the voucher). Delhivery returns the AWB, and the connector writes it back into the voucher narration along with the label PDF URL. Bulk manifest printing runs directly from the Tally dispatch queue with pickup slot batching — dispatch managers no longer switch between Tally and the Delhivery dashboard.
Every consignment is tracked through the Delhivery status webhook — from pickup to in-transit to delivery to RTO. Each state change updates the voucher narration with the timestamp, so accountants have a complete audit trail without asking dispatch for status. COD collections are the trickiest part of Delhivery ops — remittances land weekly with commissions, shipping fees, and RTO fees netted. The connector matches every remittance line against the corresponding AWB, posts a receipt voucher against the original Sales Invoice for the net amount, and books the deductions to dedicated ledgers so P&L stays clean. RTOs create credit note vouchers automatically with GST reversal and stock restored to the correct pickup godown — the classic pain of ecommerce accounting handled without accountant intervention.
