Sign upSelf-hosted or cloud: which should you pick when you join?
Choose cloud if you have no IT staff, want to start quickly, or have people billing from more than one location. Choose self-hosted if you already run servers, need data to stay on infrastructure you control, or have unreliable internet at the site where billing happens.
If you are unsure, say so when we get in touch. The choice only tells us which version to invite you to first; it does not commit you to either.
What should you check before choosing free ERP software?
“Free” ERP usually means the software licence costs nothing. Running a business on it still has costs, and they are worth adding up before you commit to any system, ERPStack included.
| Cost or risk | What to ask |
|---|---|
| Hosting | Who runs the server, and what does it cost each month with backups? |
| Implementation | Who sets up your items, customers, tax rules and opening balances, and how long will it take? |
| Support | When something breaks at month-end, who do you call, and is that paid? |
| Feature limits | Are e-invoicing, multiple users or multiple GSTINs only in a paid tier? |
| Updates | How are new versions installed, and what happens to your customisations? |
| Data exit | Can you export everything in open formats if you leave? |
ERPStack will answer each of these on its own pages before it opens. Until then, read what ERPStack is being built to do or how it compares in ERPStack vs Odoo.
Getting ERPStack, answered
When will the self-hosted build be available?
There is no public date yet. People who sign up get updates as modules are built and are the first to be offered the self-hosted build when it is ready.
Will ERPStack be free?
Terms for the self-hosted build will be published with it. ERPStack Cloud prices are not published yet and will be announced before launch. Signing up is free.
What will I need to self-host ERPStack?
System requirements will be published with the first self-hosted build. Whatever they turn out to be, self-hosting any ERP means having someone who can run the server, install updates and check backups. If you do not, the cloud version is the better fit.
