Afterpay merchant fees and settlements matched to orders
Brandnata connects to Afterpay through your Afterpay Merchant ID and Secret Key, which a Hub Admin copies from Settings in the Afterpay Business Hub, together with the settlement reports from its reconciliation tab, in about 5 minutes. The connection is read-only by default, and Afterpay data is reconciled with every other channel you connect in one dashboard.
Brandnata's Afterpay integration reads your orders, refunds and disputes, and the merchant fees in each daily settlement report. Every fee is tied to the order it came from, so the cost of Afterpay, Clearpay or Cash App Afterpay sits in your profit per order and product, next to ad spend, shipping and your other payment methods.

How Brandnata uses Afterpay data
Afterpay supplies the payment side of orders paid in installments. Brandnata matches its settlements to orders from your Shopify, BigCommerce or WooCommerce store and sets the fees beside ad spend, shipping and other methods such as Klarna, Stripe and PayPal, so payment mix is part of your margin.

Afterpay data feeds Brandnata's anomaly alerts and AI agent suggestions. The connection itself only reads data and never changes anything in Afterpay.
What you can do with Afterpay in Brandnata
Specific, Afterpay-native use cases, not a generic list that applies to every connector the same way.
See Afterpay fees per order and product, and compare them with cards, wallets and Klarna on the same catalog.
Afterpay doesn't return its fee when you refund. Brandnata counts that fee in the margin of every refunded order.
Break each settlement into the orders, fees and refunds inside it, so a short deposit can be traced to its cause.
Afterpay, Clearpay and Cash App Afterpay accounts each have their own credentials. Brandnata reports them side by side.

Afterpay integration FAQs

How do I connect Afterpay to Brandnata?
A Hub Admin signs in to the Afterpay Business Hub for your region, opens Settings and copies the Merchant ID and Secret Key into Brandnata. Settlement reports come from Settlement Export in the reconciliation tab, or by API if your account manager enables it. If you accept Afterpay through Stripe, connect Stripe instead.
How much does Afterpay charge merchants?
Afterpay charges merchants a fixed fee plus a percentage of each approved order, set in your merchant agreement rather than one published rate. Online and in-store fees can differ. Brandnata reads the actual fee on each order from your settlement reports, so it doesn't rely on estimates.
Does Afterpay refund its fee when I refund an order?
No. Afterpay merchant fees are non-refundable. When you refund an order, Afterpay credits the refunded amount at your next settlement, less merchant fees. Brandnata shows the fee kept on each refunded order, so returns are costed correctly.
When does Afterpay pay merchants?
Afterpay pays online merchants on the settlement period in their agreement, usually between one and five business days. There is typically one settlement for every day you capture orders, with fees already deducted. In the US, payment goes by ACH, which can add a day or two.
Is Clearpay the same as Afterpay?
Yes. Afterpay is called Clearpay in the UK, and since March 17, 2025 it has been branded Cash App Afterpay in the US. Australia, New Zealand and Canada keep the Afterpay name. Each regional merchant account has its own credentials, and Brandnata can connect them all.
Where do I find Afterpay settlement reports?
In the Afterpay Business Hub, under the reconciliation tab, using Settlement Export. Each report covers one settlement and lists order IDs, amounts, merchant fees and refunds. Monthly tax invoices are in the same tab. Brandnata links every report line to an order.
Can Brandnata refund, capture or cancel Afterpay orders?
No. Afterpay's Secret Key can be used for payment actions, but Brandnata only reads orders, settlements, refunds and disputes. It doesn't capture, refund, void or cancel orders, or respond to disputes.
