Klarna fees and settlements inside your profit per order
Brandnata connects to Klarna through Klarna API credentials that an admin generates in the Klarna Merchant Portal under Settings, giving Brandnata access to settlement reports, in about 5 minutes. The connection is read-only by default, and Klarna data is reconciled with every other channel you connect in one dashboard.
Brandnata's Klarna integration reads settlement reports, including captures, fees, refunds, disputes and payouts. Every line is tied to the order it belongs to, so the cost of offering Klarna appears in your profit per order and product, next to ad spend, shipping and your other payment methods.

Everything Klarna sends into Brandnata
Once connected, settlement data syncs after each Klarna payout, usually the day after the payout is made.
Settlements
Payouts with the captures, fees, refunds and adjustments that make up each one.
Fees
Klarna fees per transaction, so the cost of each order paid with Klarna is known.
Refunds & returns
Refunds and any fees that weren't returned with them, linked to the original order.
Disputes
Customer disputes and their outcomes, including amounts deducted from payouts.
How Brandnata uses Klarna data
Klarna supplies the payment side of orders paid with buy now, pay later. Brandnata matches its settlements to orders from your Shopify or other store and sets the fees beside ad spend, shipping and other processors such as Stripe and PayPal, so payment mix is part of your margin.

Klarna data feeds Brandnata's anomaly alerts and AI agent suggestions. The connection itself only reads data and never changes anything in Klarna.

| Klarna Merchant Portal (native) | Settlement reports in CSV, PDF or JSON, and order management | Reports are per payout, separate from store orders, ad spend and other payment methods |
| Store payment reports | Orders paid with Klarna, shown as a payment method | Klarna's fees and dispute outcomes usually aren't attached to the order |

Klarna integration FAQs
How do I connect Klarna to Brandnata?
An admin on your Klarna account generates API credentials in the Klarna Merchant Portal settings. Copy the username and password, since the password may only be shown once, and enter them in Brandnata. If you accept Klarna through Stripe or Shopify Payments instead, connect that account, because Klarna's fees appear there.
How much does Klarna charge merchants?
Klarna doesn't publish one rate for direct merchants. Fees depend on your contract, country and the payment option used. Brandnata reads the fees in your own settlement reports, so it doesn't rely on published estimates.
Does Klarna refund its fee when I refund an order?
Not always. When Klarna is offered through Shopify Payments or Stripe, processing fees aren't returned on refunds. For direct Klarna contracts, check the refund lines in your settlement report. Brandnata shows any fee kept on each refunded order.
When does Klarna pay out?
On the payout schedule and delay set in your contract. For example, with weekly payouts and a one-week delay, an order captured on a Friday is paid out the Wednesday after next. The settlement report is available the day after the payout.
Where do I find Klarna settlement reports?
In the Klarna Merchant Portal, through the Settlements API or by SFTP, as CSV, PDF or JSON files. Brandnata reads them through the API and links every line to an order.
What happens in a Klarna dispute?
A customer dispute usually starts as an inquiry, during which you can resolve it, for example by refunding. If it isn't resolved, it can escalate to a chargeback with a fee. Timelines depend on how you offer Klarna, so check your provider's terms. Brandnata includes dispute losses in margin.
Can Brandnata capture, refund or cancel Klarna orders?
No. Brandnata reads settlement reports. It doesn't capture, refund, extend or cancel orders, or change payouts.
