Postscript SMS revenue and ROI, checked against real orders
Brandnata connects to Postscript through the private API key you create in Postscript under your shop name > API, pasted into Brandnata, in about 5 minutes. The connection is read-only by default, and Postscript data is reconciled with every other channel you connect in one dashboard.
Brandnata's Postscript integration reads your SMS campaigns, automations, subscribers and the orders Postscript attributes to them. Credited orders are checked against your Shopify store, refunds and product costs are applied, and message costs are included, so you can see what SMS adds to profit after its own costs.

How Brandnata uses Postscript data
Postscript supplies the SMS side of your owned marketing. Its attributed orders are checked against Shopify orders, refunds and product costs, and set beside email from Klaviyo and paid channels such as Meta Ads, showing what SMS adds to profit and where an order is credited twice.

Postscript data feeds Brandnata's anomaly alerts and AI agent suggestions. The connection itself only reads data and never changes anything in Postscript.
What you can do with Postscript in Brandnata
Specific, Postscript-native use cases, not a generic list that applies to every connector the same way.
Subtract message credits, carrier fees, discount codes and refunds from attributed revenue to see what SMS really contributes.
Postscript credits orders placed within 24 hours of receiving a text, even without a click. Brandnata shows how much revenue relies on that rule.
Apply product costs to the orders each send drove and find the campaigns that only discounted orders you would have had anyway.
Where Brandnata + Postscript fits
Other ways teams currently piece this data together, and where each one runs out of reach.
| Approach | Coverage | Where it falls short |
|---|---|---|
| Brandnata + Postscript · this page | Attributed orders checked against Shopify orders, refunds and costs, with message costs and overlaps shown | N/A |
| Postscript reports (native) | Campaign and automation revenue, clicks, subscribers and list growth | Revenue includes view-through and coupon credit, without refunds, product costs or other channels' claims |
| Shopify reports | Orders, net sales and refunds, sometimes split by UTM source | Only credits SMS when a tagged link was clicked |
| Exports in spreadsheets | Postscript exports compared with Shopify order exports | Message costs and overlaps are hard to keep consistent from month to month |

Postscript integration FAQs
How do I connect Postscript to Brandnata?
In Postscript, click your shop name, open API and create a security key pair. Copy the private key, which starts with sk_, and paste it into Brandnata. The public key can't be used to read data. Deleting the key pair in Postscript ends access.
What is Postscript's default attribution window?
By default, Postscript credits an order to a message clicked in the previous 7 days, or to a message received in the previous 24 hours without a click. Orders using a Postscript discount code can be credited outside these windows. You can change the windows under your shop name > Tracking.
Why is Postscript revenue higher than Shopify shows for SMS?
Postscript's 24-hour view window and discount code rules credit orders without a tracked click, and email or ad platforms may claim the same orders. Shopify only credits SMS from tagged links. Brandnata shows these differences order by order.
How much does a Postscript text cost?
Postscript bills in message credits. An SMS uses 1 credit and an MMS uses 3, with the price per credit depending on your plan, and carrier fees are charged on top. Brandnata includes these costs when it calculates SMS profit.
Is SMS marketing profitable?
It can be, but attributed revenue overstates it. Net out message credits, carrier fees, discount codes, refunds and product costs, and remove orders other channels would have won. Brandnata shows the result per campaign and automation.
Does Postscript work with Klaviyo?
Many brands use Postscript for SMS and Klaviyo for email. Each credits orders under its own rules, so the same order can appear in both. With both connected, Brandnata shows where they overlap.
Can Brandnata send texts or edit subscribers in Postscript?
No. Postscript's private key isn't limited to reading, but Brandnata only reads campaigns, automations, subscribers and orders. It doesn't send messages, change automations or edit subscribers.
