ONDC seller profit after buyer app, seller app and delivery fees
Brandnata connects to ONDC through the order and settlement reports from your ONDC seller app, or, if your seller app syncs ONDC orders into Shopify, WooCommerce or your OMS, those orders, in about 5 minutes. The connection is read-only by default, and ONDC data is reconciled with every other channel you connect in one dashboard.
ONDC is India's open network, so your orders arrive through a seller app and each one carries a buyer app finder fee, a seller app fee and a delivery charge set per order. Brandnata reads your seller app's order and settlement reports, adds product costs and returns, and shows what each ONDC order and SKU actually earns next to your other channels.

Everything ONDC sends into Brandnata
Settlement data updates each time a new seller app report is added, and ONDC orders that reach your store or OMS sync throughout the day.
ONDC orders
Orders received through your seller app, with SKU, quantity, order value, buyer app, delivery city and status.
Finder and seller app fees
The buyer app finder fee agreed on each order and your seller app's fee, as percentages or flat amounts from your settlement reports.
Delivery charges
The logistics charge for each order, whether delivery was booked through a logistics provider on the network or shipped by you.
Settlements & returns
Amounts paid out per order, amounts withheld until the return window closes, refunds, cancellations and GST TCS deducted.
How Brandnata uses ONDC data
ONDC orders and settlements are matched to SKUs and combined with the product costs you already use for Shopify, Amazon and Flipkart. Delivery charges sit next to Shiprocket and Delhivery costs, and orders that reach EasyEcom or Unicommerce are reconciled once, so ONDC is judged on the same profit definition as every other channel.

ONDC data feeds Brandnata's anomaly alerts and AI agent suggestions. The connection itself only reads data and never changes anything in ONDC.
What you can do with ONDC in Brandnata
Specific, ONDC-native use cases, not a generic list that applies to every connector the same way.
Start from the order value, subtract the finder fee, seller app fee, delivery charge and product cost, then account for returns once the return window closes.
Finder fees are proposed per order by each buyer app, so Brandnata shows what each buyer app costs you and what its orders earn.
Match each settlement to the orders it covers, and see which amounts are still withheld or missing.
Where Brandnata + ONDC fits
Other ways teams currently piece this data together, and where each one runs out of reach.
| Approach | Coverage | Where it falls short |
|---|---|---|
| Brandnata + ONDC · this page | Orders, finder fees, seller app fees, delivery, returns and payouts combined with product costs, by order, SKU and buyer app | N/A |
| Seller app dashboard (native) | Orders, catalogue, payouts and settlement reports for ONDC orders | Product costs and your other channels aren't included, so profit per SKU across channels isn't shown |
| Marketplace fee calculators | Estimated fees for one product at a price and commission you enter | Finder fees and delivery charges change per order on ONDC, so estimates miss what you were actually charged |
| Spreadsheets | Seller app settlement exports joined to product costs by SKU | Withheld amounts are released after the return window, so payouts and orders rarely fall in the same month |
ONDC works alongside every other connector
Data from ONDC doesn't sit in isolation, it's matched against orders, customers and spend from every other platform you connect, so the full picture shows up automatically.

How do I connect ONDC to Brandnata?
Brandnata connects through your ONDC seller app, since ONDC doesn't give brands a direct reporting API. Download the order and settlement reports from your seller app's dashboard and add them in Brandnata. If your seller app already syncs ONDC orders into Shopify, WooCommerce or your OMS, Brandnata can use those orders too.
How does a brand sell on ONDC?
A brand joins ONDC through a seller app, also called a seller network participant, rather than registering with ONDC directly. The seller app lists your catalogue on the network, receives orders placed through buyer apps, arranges delivery and settles payments with you. Some seller apps can import your catalogue from Shopify.
What fees do sellers pay on ONDC?
Sellers usually pay a buyer app finder fee, a seller app fee and a delivery charge on each order. ONDC's policy lets buyer apps set the finder fee as a percentage of total order value or a flat amount, with no cap, and the seller app must agree before the order completes. Seller app fees vary by app.
Does ONDC charge sellers a commission?
ONDC doesn't charge sellers a commission on orders; the fees on an order come from the buyer app, the seller app and the logistics provider. ONDC's policy allows it to charge network participants a nominal fee per successful transaction after 30 days' notice, which a seller app may pass on in its own charges.
When do ONDC sellers get paid?
Payment timing depends on your seller app, which settles with you under ONDC's Reconciliation and Settlement Framework. Part of the order value can be withheld until the return window closes, so a payout often covers orders from earlier periods. Brandnata matches each payout to the orders it covers.
Who deducts GST TCS on ONDC orders?
Usually the seller app. CBIC Circular 194/06/2023-GST says that when several e-commerce operators are involved, the supplier-side operator that releases payment to the seller collects TCS. If that operator is itself the supplier, the buyer-side operator collects it instead. Brandnata reads the TCS shown in your settlement reports.
Can Brandnata change my ONDC listings or orders?
No. Brandnata reads the data in your seller app reports and in orders already synced to your store or OMS. It doesn't edit your catalogue, prices or stock, accept or cancel orders, book deliveries, or change fees with buyer apps or your seller app.
