Intellyx SCADA & HMI Platform
Browser-based SCADA, historian, and HMI — built for Indian process and discrete plants
Why Intellyx SCADA & HMI Platform?
Intellyx SCADA is a modern supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) platform with built-in HMI, time-series historian, alarm and event management, recipe management, and P&ID mimic visualisation. It connects to PLCs and field devices via OPC-UA, MQTT Sparkplug B, Modbus RTU/TCP, DNP3, and IEC 60870, and runs fully on-premise or at the edge with no cloud dependency. The platform is delivered as part of the Intellyx stack and connects directly to MES, ERP, and AI analytics modules without separate integration projects.
Traditional SCADA platforms — Wonderware, WinCC, RSView, GENESIS64 — were designed in an era of fat-client Windows software, per-tag licensing, and weeks of integration to add a new dashboard. Intellyx SCADA is browser-native, runs on commodity Linux edge hardware, and licenses by site rather than by tag. The platform includes an HTML5 HMI builder with P&ID mimic support, a high-performance time-series historian for tags and alarms, a unified protocol layer covering OPC-UA / MQTT Sparkplug B / Modbus / DNP3 / IEC 60870 / BACnet, an ISA-18.2 compliant alarm and event manager, and ISA-88 recipe and batch management. Because it sits inside the same Intellyx platform as OEE, Vision QC, and Predictive Maintenance, your SCADA tags flow directly into AI analytics and ERP-aware dashboards without separate historians, separate licences, or separate integration projects.
What Intellyx SCADA & HMI Platform Does
Core capabilities that make the module production-ready from day one.
Browser-Based HMI with P&ID Mimic
Operators access the HMI from any browser — no installed clients, no Windows-only runtime, no per-seat licences. The HMI builder supports P&ID mimic diagrams, multi-state animations, trend overlays, alarm banners, and role-based access. Screens render in under 100 ms at the edge and survive intermittent network outages because the runtime is local to each operator station.
Unified Protocol Layer
Intellyx SCADA includes native drivers for OPC-UA (client and server), MQTT Sparkplug B, Modbus RTU and TCP, DNP3, IEC 60870-5-104, BACnet/IP, and Siemens S7, Allen-Bradley EtherNet/IP, and Mitsubishi MELSEC. Legacy serial devices connect through Intellyx edge gateways that bridge to the modern protocol stack without modifying field equipment.
Built-In Time-Series Historian
All tags, alarms, and events are persisted in a high-performance time-series store with sub-second resolution and configurable retention per tag class. The historian supports out-of-order writes from intermittent edge links, lossless compression on raw signals, and direct query access from the AI analytics module and any BI tool that speaks SQL or REST.
ISA-18.2 Alarm & Event Management
Alarms are configured with priority, deadband, shelving, and rationalisation rules aligned with ISA-18.2 / IEC 62682. The alarm console supports acknowledgement workflows, audit trails, and escalation to the Intellyx WhatsApp alert module so site engineers are notified the moment a critical alarm trips — not at the end of the shift.
ISA-88 Recipe & Batch Management
For process industries, the platform includes recipe authoring, equipment-arbitrated batch execution, and electronic batch records aligned with ISA-88. Recipes are version-controlled, e-signed for 21 CFR Part 11 compatibility where required, and exported as audit-ready batch reports for pharma, food, and chemical compliance.
Edge-First, Cloud-Optional Deployment
The full SCADA stack — runtime, historian, HMI, connectors — runs on a commodity Linux edge appliance inside your plant. There is no mandatory cloud component. Cloud sync is optional for multi-site aggregation, and the system continues to acquire, log, and alarm even when the WAN is down. This matches the Intellyx promise that your production data never leaves the plant unless you choose to send it.
How Intellyx SCADA & HMI Platform Gets Deployed
A structured deployment process that minimises disruption and delivers results within the first 90 days.
Site Survey and Tag Architecture
Perimattic engineers conduct an on-site survey of PLCs, field instruments, and existing SCADA assets. A tag architecture is designed mapping every field signal to the unified Intellyx tag model with ISA-95 equipment hierarchy. Existing tag databases from Wonderware, WinCC, or RSView can be imported as a starting point. The survey typically takes 3–7 days depending on plant complexity.
Edge Hardware and Protocol Bring-Up
Industrial edge appliances are installed in your control room or MCC, connected to the OT network, and configured with the relevant protocol drivers. Live tag values are validated against the existing SCADA or HMI to confirm parity before any operator screens are migrated. Network segmentation follows IEC 62443 zoning so the SCADA traffic is isolated from corporate IT.
HMI, Alarm, and Recipe Configuration
HMI screens are built using the browser-based HMI editor — either from scratch or by replicating existing P&ID mimics. Alarm priorities and shelving rules are configured in collaboration with your process engineers. For batch operations, recipes and equipment phases are authored and validated against a non-production batch run before go-live.
Parallel Run, Cutover, and Operator Training
Intellyx SCADA runs in parallel with your existing SCADA for 2–4 weeks while operators are trained on the new HMI. Once parity is verified across all critical screens and alarms, the legacy SCADA is decommissioned or kept as a hot standby. Operator training is delivered on-site and includes runbooks for fault scenarios specific to your plant.
Intellyx SCADA & HMI Platform Across Industries
How manufacturers in different sectors put this module to work.
Continuous reactors, distillation columns, and utility systems are monitored and supervised through a unified P&ID mimic with live trends, alarm shelving, and recipe-driven batch operations. The historian provides the long-term trend data and event logs required for HAZOP reviews, root-cause analysis after process upsets, and PESO and CPCB compliance reporting.
Clean-room HVAC, water-for-injection loops, autoclaves, and tablet press lines are supervised with audit-trail logging, e-signature support, and ISA-88 batch records aligned with WHO-GMP and 21 CFR Part 11. Operators run validated recipes with deviation logging, and quality engineers retrieve full batch genealogy from the historian for OEM and regulatory audits.
CIP cycles, pasteurisation loops, blending stations, and packaging lines are visualised and controlled through a single browser-based HMI. CIP audit trails, temperature-time records, and recipe execution logs are stored in the historian for FSSAI and HACCP compliance without any separate paperwork from line operators.
Distributed pumping stations, treatment plants, and remote intake points are monitored through Intellyx SCADA using DNP3, IEC 60870, and 4G/LTE backhaul. Edge nodes continue acquiring and logging during WAN outages and back-fill the central historian on reconnect — important for ULB and municipal water utilities operating across wide geographies.
Common Questions About Intellyx SCADA & HMI Platform
How is Intellyx SCADA different from Wonderware, WinCC, or Ignition?
Intellyx SCADA is browser-native, runs on Linux edge hardware, and uses site-based licensing rather than per-tag licensing — which is the single biggest cost driver in Wonderware and WinCC deployments at scale. Compared with Ignition, Intellyx SCADA is delivered as part of the wider Intellyx platform, so the same historian feeds OEE, Vision QC, Predictive Maintenance, and ERP-aware dashboards without separate integration. The protocol coverage is comparable, and standards alignment (ISA-18.2 alarms, ISA-88 batch, ISA-95 hierarchy, IEC 62443 networking) is built in rather than added through third-party modules.
Can Intellyx SCADA replace our existing SCADA, or does it sit alongside it?
Both modes are supported. For greenfield plants and new lines, Intellyx SCADA is deployed as the primary supervisory system. For existing plants where a legacy SCADA is already operational, the most common pattern is to run Intellyx SCADA in parallel for 2–4 weeks, migrate operator screens and alarms section by section, and decommission the legacy system once parity is verified. In some cases the legacy SCADA is retained for a specific process unit while Intellyx handles the rest of the plant — the unified historian still ingests data from both.
Does Intellyx SCADA replace our PLCs?
No. Intellyx SCADA is a supervisory layer that reads from and writes to your existing PLCs through standard industrial protocols. PLC programming, safety interlocks, and deterministic control logic remain on your existing Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Schneider, or other PLC platform. Intellyx supervises and visualises what the PLCs are doing, captures the data in the historian, and provides the operator interface — it does not replace the controllers themselves.
Does Intellyx SCADA require an internet connection or cloud?
No. The full Intellyx SCADA stack — runtime, HMI, historian, alarm engine, recipe manager, and protocol connectors — runs on a Linux edge appliance inside your plant and continues to operate when the WAN or internet link is down. Cloud sync is an optional feature for multi-site aggregation and remote engineering access, and it can be disabled entirely for air-gapped installations. This makes Intellyx SCADA suitable for defence, pharma, and process plants where data residency and air-gapping are regulatory requirements.
How is Intellyx SCADA licensed?
Intellyx SCADA uses per-site licensing rather than per-tag or per-client licensing. A single site licence covers unlimited tags, unlimited HMI clients (browser-based), unlimited operator workstations, and the full historian and alarm engine for that plant. Hardware is a one-time setup fee covering the edge appliances, panels, and field connectivity, and the software is billed as an annual subscription per site. For multi-plant manufacturers, group-level pricing applies. Contact hello@perimattic.com for a deployment-specific quote.
How long does a typical SCADA deployment take?
A standard single-site Intellyx SCADA deployment runs 8–16 weeks from kickoff to operator cutover — site survey and tag architecture (1 week), edge hardware and protocol bring-up (2–3 weeks), HMI / alarm / recipe configuration (3–6 weeks), and parallel run and cutover (2–4 weeks). Legacy SCADA migrations from Wonderware or WinCC are typically at the higher end of this range due to screen and tag database conversion. Greenfield deployments tracking a new plant build often run shorter because the tag architecture is designed once rather than reverse-engineered from an existing system.
