Magento profit per order, with ad spend and refunds included
Brandnata connects to Magento through a Magento integration that you create in the Admin, limited to the resources Brandnata reads, with its OAuth credentials pasted into Brandnata, in about 5 minutes. The connection is read-only by default, and Magento data is reconciled with every other channel you connect in one dashboard.
Brandnata's Magento integration reads orders, invoices, credit memos, shipments, discounts and products from Magento Open Source or Adobe Commerce. Revenue is placed next to ad spend, payment fees and shipping costs from your other connectors, so you can see what a Magento order earned after costs, by product, campaign and store view.

Everything Magento sends into Brandnata
Once connected, new orders, invoices and credit memos sync throughout the day, and status changes such as shipments or cancellations update on the next sync.
Orders & invoices
Orders with status, store view, currency, tax, shipping charged and discounts, plus the invoices that mark revenue as captured.
Credit memos
Online and offline refunds recorded as credit memos, including partial refunds, returned items and adjustment fees.
Discounts & coupons
Cart price rules and coupon codes applied to an order, for judging promotions on the margin they left.
Products & store views
SKUs, product types and attribute sets, along with the websites, stores and store views an order was placed in.
How Brandnata uses Magento data
Magento supplies the storefront side of your business: what sold, at what price, with which discount and in which store view. Brandnata brings in the costs Magento doesn't hold, such as ad spend from Google Ads or Meta Ads, gateway fees and shipping, and assigns them to the orders they belong to, so margin by product and campaign is available without a reporting extension.

Magento data feeds Brandnata's anomaly alerts and AI agent suggestions. The connection itself only reads data and never changes anything in Magento.
What you can do with Magento in Brandnata
Specific, Magento-native use cases, not a generic list that applies to every connector the same way.
Magento's sales reports stop at revenue. Brandnata subtracts refunds, discounts, payment fees, shipping costs and ad spend to show what a product really earned.
Brands running several websites or store views on one Magento install can compare them side by side, with orders kept in the currency they were placed in and reported in the store's base currency.
See which cart price rules brought in new customers and which ones discounted orders that would have happened anyway.
Where Brandnata + Magento fits
Other ways teams currently piece this data together, and where each one runs out of reach.
| Approach | Coverage | Where it falls short |
|---|---|---|
| Brandnata + Magento · this page | Orders, invoices and credit memos combined with ad spend, payment fees and shipping, giving profit by product, campaign and store view | N/A |
| Magento Admin reports (native) | Sales, tax, invoiced, shipping, refunds, coupons and bestseller reports, plus Advanced Reporting dashboards | Revenue only. Ad spend, gateway fees and real shipping costs aren't recorded, and most reports need statistics refreshed before they're current |
| Profit reporting extensions | Profit columns or reports inside the Admin, based on product cost values entered in Magento | Have to be installed and kept compatible through Magento upgrades, and still rely on ad and fee data being entered by hand |
| Exports in spreadsheets | Order and credit memo exports combined with ad platform and payment reports | Rebuilt by hand for each period, and refunds issued in a later month are easy to attribute to the wrong one |
Magento works alongside every other connector
Data from Magento doesn't sit in isolation, it's matched against orders, customers and spend from every other platform you connect, so the full picture shows up automatically.

Magento integration FAQs
How do I connect Magento to Brandnata?
In the Magento Admin, go to System > Extensions > Integrations and add a new integration. Under API, set Resource Access to Custom and select the sales, catalog, customer and store resources Brandnata lists. Save, click Activate, then Allow. Magento shows a consumer key, consumer secret, access token and access token secret, which you paste into Brandnata. Deleting the integration in Magento revokes access.
Does Magento show profit per order?
Not by default. The Orders grid and sales reports show revenue: subtotal plus tax and shipping charged, less discounts. Magento can store a cost value on products, but it doesn't know your ad spend, payment gateway fees or what shipping really cost. Brandnata adds those from your other connected accounts to calculate profit per order and per product.
Does the integration work with both Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce?
Yes. Both editions of Magento 2 use the same REST API and the same integration setup in the Admin, whether the store is self-hosted or runs on Adobe Commerce on cloud infrastructure. Magento 1 reached end of life in June 2020 and uses a different API. The connection is built for Magento 2.
Why don't Magento's sales reports match my orders or bank deposits?
Several reasons are common. Most Magento reports read from statistics that need refreshing under Reports > Statistics, and recent orders may be missing until then. Reports can count orders when placed, invoiced or refunded depending on the filter. A credit memo issued next month changes the figures for that month, not the original sale. And deposits arrive after gateway fees, which Magento doesn't record.
Can I report on several websites or store views separately?
Yes. Magento records the website, store and store view an order came from, along with the store's base currency and the currency the customer paid in. Brandnata can report them one by one or combined, which lets a multi-country setup on a single Magento install be compared like for like.
Which permissions does the Magento integration need?
Read access to sales operations (orders, invoices, credit memos and shipments), catalog products, customers and store settings. Magento's resource list groups viewing and editing permissions together for some resources, which can make the grant look broader than read-only. Brandnata only reads from your store.
Can Brandnata change orders, prices or products in Magento?
No. Brandnata reads orders, invoices, credit memos, discounts and products. It doesn't create or edit orders, issue refunds, change prices or catalog data, or alter your store configuration.
